80's Night.

Usually when people say,
"The theme is the 80's"
Everyone automatically assumes that there will be
Big Hair,
Neon Everything,
& no sense of color coordination.

{We really have no idea why since that is obviously the 70's.}

Oh well,
you get the point.

We jumped on the band-wagon anyway
because,

It will be fun.
 we would make memories.
& There will be something to eat.
obviously.
otherwise we wouldn't go.

Duh.

So,
the time came for some friends to get together for a fun-filled night.
We had been waiting for this night all week.

It was possibly the best idea of the month.

We started to get ready for the evening,
getting into our 80's attire.

Funky Clothing,
Big Hair,
Retro Glasses,
Platform Shoes,
Some Bling,
Crazy Good Looking Make-up,
& enough sass to cover everyone in the building.

We stroll into the gymnasium,
& everyone there was dressed as prime as ever.

There was such a wide variety of styles,
nothing like we had ever seen before.

We sat at the tables that were set up.
Treats on the table.
Friends at our sides.
Ready for a quality time.

That's when the M.C. shouted across the building,
"G-34!!!"

One of the members of our table shot out of their seat & yelled in a quivering voice,
"BINGO!!"

Yes,
Ladies & Gents.
We had a 80's night.
But definitely far from your idea of an 80's night.

We were not from the 80's
We were 80 years old.

We played bingo with the elderly.
Won fruit such as apples & bananas.
Talked about the latest denture creams.
Grandkids,
what was in the morning paper,
& called people shameless hussies.

We made fun of the coordinates they called out.
"B-4? before what??"
"B-9? are they talking about the mole on my back??"

Ethel Ray cheated by using 8 boards
& still won nothing.
Veramitch later turned into the M.C.
& let Ethel Ray win something.

All in all we had a good night.
Made lots of new, old friends.

We are individualists, we do what we want.
